Summer Youth Ambassadors

ORGANIZATIONAL/PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) was established in 1994 and incorporated as a formal non-profit
collaborative in 2000 to address the socio-economic conditions impacting low-income families living in the City of
Los Angeles, with a focus on Westlake and surrounding communities, and expanding to Koreatown in 2024. With
the mission of catalyzing partnerships to systemically address the multiple challenges facing low-income families,
CCNP works with its partners to help families create pathways to financial security and economic opportunity
through our FamilySource Center (FSC) programs, financial asset building programs and other signature programs.

Position Summary:
The Summer Youth Ambassador is responsible for implementing a “no wrong door” approach to coordinate the
delivery of services and client referrals that result in access to CCNP programs. This position will also provide
program and administrative support to CCNP partners and staff to ensure all programs are implemented effectively,
efficiently, and consistently in accordance with grant requirements and the mission of CCNP.
Summer Youth Ambassador will perform a broad range of duties spanning the full employment cycle, including,
but not limited to providing expert counsel, support and/or monitoring of the following:
1. Answering and directing calls, taking messages, and making phone calls on behalf of the CCNP
2. Utilize office appliances such as photocopiers, printers etc. and computers for word processing, spreadsheet
creation etc.
3. Create documents, maintaining databases and sending emails
4. Collecting, filing and organizing office documents, such as reports and confidential records
5. Warmly welcome clients and provide information and referrals based on client needs;
6. Engage with all members, participants, and parents to build strong relationships toward the advancement of
CCNP
7. Attend community events to promote CCNP’s program and other free programs offered at the center
8. Anticipate, meet and exceed client needs by maintaining a current working knowledge of all programs,
activities and procedures;
9. Assist in the preparation of all outreach material for distribution in the community
10. Assist partners and staff with special projects, including preparing correspondences, forms, flyers and
translating documents ( if applicable)
11. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with community resources; develop community
resources and referrals; work with other team members on facilitating events as needed;
12. Prepare food bags for distribution to the community
13. Greets customers, checks IDs, and dispenses bags of food.
14. Works alongside staff and volunteers in performing tasks
15. Assist with food pickups, unloading and sorting
16. Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 LB
17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Current college student in good academic standing, must possess strong leadership qualities and have the
ability to function as a team player;
2. Ability to maintain appropriate, professional boundaries and confidentiality;
3. Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills;
4. Excellent work ethic and proven ability to multitask;
5. Excellent work ethic and ability to work under pressure, address multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
6. Ability to maintain appropriate, professional boundaries and confidentiality;
7. Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to complete high quality and timely
documentation
8. Culturally competent in working with the public and individuals with various cultural and economic
backgrounds and abilities.
9. The ability to read, write and speak in English is required, and the ability to speak Spanish and/or Korean is
preferred, given that many of the targeted families are monolingual in Spanish and/or Korean. Cultural
sensitivity is required.
10. Friendly, dependable and flexible team player with the ability to use tact and diplomacy in communication
and adapt to changes in a busy work environment.
11. Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and
PowerPoint); Windows Operating System.
12. Additional tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and executive leadership.
EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
● High School diploma or equivalent
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Background check and TB test clearance.
● Must be available to work 20 hours per week. Weekends and evenings as needed, Schedule may be subject to
change.

Temporary: 6 weeks (May 2024 to June 30, 2024)
Schedule: 20 hours per week (Weekends and evenings as needed)
Pay Rate: $16.78 / hr
