On Thursday, October 5th, 2023, Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), and Central City Neighborhood Partners are proud to be awarded a $500,000 from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) to fund the first phase of a new project “Reconnecting MacArthur Park”. This grant aims to restore the park to its historical state by permanently closing Wilshire Blvd. The $500k Civic Equity, Engagement, and Environmental Justice planning grant will be used for outreach and traffic study.
