Job Description:

The Career Coach role involves providing direct services to low-to-moderate-income individuals enrolled in our Financial Opportunity Center program. This position entails interaction with employers, service providers, and community residents. The successful candidate will enhance the employment component of the FOC by identifying job sectors and employers in CCNP’s targeted neighborhoods, assisting participants in defining long-term career goals, preparing them for job opportunities, and facilitating connections to employment or skills training. Additionally, the Career Coach will conduct workshops, network, and maintain relationships to promote career opportunities actively.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement outreach strategies to promote employment services.
  • Screen participants for program eligibility and conduct intake and orientation.
  • Interview participants to assess interest and qualifications for employment.
  • Provide career coaching, follow-up, and job retention services.
  • Instruct participants in job-seeking procedures, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Maintain contacts with business representatives and job placement agencies.
  • Communicate program benefits to employers and address their specific needs.
  • Identify required job skills and develop processes for participants to acquire them.
  • Stay updated on job trends and maintain labor market information.
  • Collect data from employers related to job orders and requirements.
  • Match job skills with applicant qualifications effectively.
  • Stay informed about job fairs and online resources, participating in outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide integrated employment and financial coaching services.
  • Ensure documentation compliance and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Collect and compile data for program assessment and evaluation.
  • Track participant activity, progress, and outcomes using Salesforce.
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and events as required.
  • Assist in planning monthly, quarterly, and yearly events for FOC participants and their families.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in career coaching and employment placement.
  • Knowledge of integrating financial coaching within employment services.
  • Empathetic listener with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Cultural competence and flexibility to adapt in a diverse environment.
  • Proficiency in English required; Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in career coaching and employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background check and TB test.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds unassisted.
